The SHEM Steering Committee

The Steering Committee (SC) represents the movement, guides the strategy towards its mission, and encourages a sense of belonging of all its members and their participation. Its assemblage aims to achieve a suitable balance between representatives of high-income countries (HICs) and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs – the “global south”). Reflecting the diverse nature of the movement, the SC also tries to have a balanced representation of health and other professionals, and practitioners, academia, scientists, and activists.

SC 2020-2021

Social inequality and the climate crisis create health inequalities within and between countries; the Sustainable Health Equity Movement (SHEM) aims to promote sustainable health equity as an ethical principle guiding all national and international economic, social, and environmental policies.
